Dancers plan to raise money for domestic violence victims

TAMPA (FOX 13) –
Dancers and aerialists from all over the U.S. are going to descend on Ybor City at the Ritz this Saturday and all to help out C.A.S.A. (Community Action Stops Abuse).
C.A.S.A. has a wealth of resources for women who are victims of domestic violence, and this fundraiser Saturday will ensure their services stay strong in the community — just like the strong women who are performing in the Pole For A Purpose showcase.
If you’ve never seen some of the fittest women on the planet do this gymnastic dance art, it’s truly something to watch. Think Cirque du Soleil meets exotic dance! There are three levels of the showcase: solo, duet and group dance and all using a pole or a chair or a combination of both.
We caught-up with local dancers practicing at Impulse Pole Dance Studio in St. Pete and saw first-hand how difficult the dance moves truly are. They make it look oh-so easy! From beginners to advanced, pole dancing is a terrific way to strengthen your core muscles and overall body health.
